How to Take Yu Sleep: Dose, Timing and Tips for Better Results
Getting the most from Yu Sleep comes down to three things: taking it the right way, at the right time, alongside habits that help rather than fight your body clock. Here's a practical guide.

The Recommended Dose
The manufacturer recommends two full droppers of Yu Sleep about 30 minutes before bed, held under the tongue for around 30 seconds before swallowing. Always follow the directions on your bottle's label if they differ.
If you're new to melatonin, consider starting with one dropper for the first three to five nights. Many people respond well to small amounts of melatonin, and starting lower reduces the chance of morning grogginess. If you don't notice any effect, move up to the full serving.
Step by Step: Taking It Under the Tongue

- Shake the bottle gently so the liquid is evenly mixed.
- Fill the dropper by squeezing the bulb and releasing it inside the bottle.
- Lift your tongue and release the liquid underneath it. Try not to touch the dropper to your mouth, to keep it clean.
- Hold it there for about 30 seconds, then swallow. Repeat for the second dropper.
- Close the bottle tightly and store it as directed on the label, usually somewhere cool and dry, away from sunlight and out of reach of children.
Avoid eating or drinking for a few minutes afterwards.
Timing Matters
Take it 30 minutes before your planned bedtime, then start winding down: dim the lights, put your phone away and do something calm.
Keep the same time every night. Melatonin works partly by signaling your body clock, and that signal is strongest when it arrives at a consistent time.
Don't take it in the middle of the night. A dose at 3 a.m. leaves too little time for it to wear off and can make you groggy in the morning.
For jet lag, take it at bedtime in your new time zone for a few nights after arriving, and get outdoor light in the morning.
What to Avoid
- Alcohol on the same night. It disrupts deep sleep and adds to drowsiness.
- Driving or operating machinery after a dose.
- Other melatonin or 5-HTP supplements at the same time, which would raise your total dose.
- Combining it with antidepressants or sedatives without a doctor's approval. See Yu Sleep side effects.
- Heavy meals, caffeine and bright screens late in the evening, which work against the supplement.
Habits That Make Yu Sleep Work Better
A supplement can nudge your sleep in the right direction, but your daily routine does most of the work. These habits make the biggest difference:
- Wake up at the same time every day, including weekends
- Get 10 to 30 minutes of daylight soon after waking
- Stop caffeine by early afternoon
- Keep your bedroom cool, dark and quiet
- Use the last hour before bed for screen-free, relaxing activities
- If you can't sleep after about 20 minutes, get up and return when sleepy
How Long Should You Take It?
Give Yu Sleep three to four weeks of consistent use before deciding whether it helps. Keep a simple sleep diary: the time you went to bed, roughly when you fell asleep, how often you woke, and how you felt in the morning. If you see no improvement by around day 45, you still have time to use the 60-day refund window.
If it does help, you don't necessarily need it every night. Some people use it nightly while resetting their schedule, then only on difficult nights. If you need a sleep aid most nights for months, speak to a doctor about the underlying cause.
